Sometime in the late 1980's, in New York City, I worked as an Electrician on this absolutely dreadful video for Full Force. "Love is for Suckers" is a video with a whole lot of acting going on. It's pretty obvious that a video like this could not be made in this day and age...and I say Bravo for that! Go ahead sucker, take a look after the jump.
Full Force was mostly known for their production work with Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, but they also managed to put a few singles of their own. This one is definitely one for the musical history books. Even I was surprised when the band showed up in those outrageous outfits. It was like a group of body builders dressed in spandex decided to form a singing group. And the video itself - a band of gay (even though this was not considered a gay look back in the late 1980's) singing superheros show up to fix all that is wrong in this nerdy world. The premise for the video is beyond compare. From the makeup and the costumes, to the set design, and the wild "character" actors - everything about this scenario spells trouble. I would love to know who came up with the storyline, and more importantly who decided spending money to make it a reality was a good idea. Talk about suckers!!!
So, guess who's coming to the crib? It's Full Force and there's not a damn thing you can do about it!
