There really is nothing more awesome than a gothy, hardcore punk chick who is totally into her cat! Jessicka of Jack Off Jill fame immortalized her pet on the brilliant 1997 debut album "Sexless Demons and Scars." Her cat is phenomenal: He can break her arm in seven places and eat a whole watermelon! I'm certain that we have never seen a cat like this before. A feline truly worthy of his own song. Read more and watch the video after the jump.
Jack Off Jill formed in 1992 and their first show was as an opening act for their friend Marilyn Manson. Florida was some hot-bed of punk rock creativity in the early 90's. The band spent several years touring and released two really great albums. Jessicka should definitely be remembered as one of the great female vocalists of the 90's. The band burned out way too quickly and sadly broke up in 2000. Jessicka now fronts Scarling.
I have to admit that the part of the song that stays nestled in the back of my mind is spoken midway: "Do you hate me as much as I hate you?" That's some heavy shit to be throwing into the middle of your sonic tribute to your cat! Makes me think that perhaps I've simply gone and interpreted the song incorrectly. Let me listen to it another ten times.
Pictured up top is my cat Miracle. She would never try to break my arm, however, she does like to wake me up around four in the morning to remind me to update this blog!
Finally, "Pussy Superstar" is the title of a new Broadway musical that I'm working on so if any of you punks try to steal it...ya better watch out!
